Epoxy Flooring Melbourne

What is epoxy – epoxy flooring?

Epoxy flooring is a coating that is formed from two different chemicals. These are referred to as the “resin” and the “hardener”. When these compounds are mixed together, the amine groups react with the epoxide groups to form a covalent bond. The resulting polymer is heavily crosslinked and is thus rigid and strong. The process of polymerization is called “curing” and can be controlled through temperature and choice of resin and hardener compounds. Curing process can take from minutes to hours.

Why choose epoxy flooring?

Lifespan of Epoxy Flooring

All epoxy floors we install have superior resistance to regular wear, acid or alkali spills. If your floor is regularly cleaned and maintained it will last for years. On the other hand if your epoxy flooring is constantly exposed to sand and other abrasives, the lifespan is greatly reduced.
